Addison's Program

Tonight Addison had her annual music program. This year they did Seussical Jr. If you have read any Dr. Seuss books, you know his characters are unusual. They were asked to have crazy hair and then they painted it at school. Addison's hair looks normal from the front, but she actually had more ponytails in the back. I am lacking in talent when it comes to hair, especially when I have to be creative! Walt & Addison
Walt's mother is my neighbor at school.

All of the kids did a great job. Addison made us proud, as usual!

My Cowboy

Saturday was Michael's first day back at the fire station. As usual, they were busy all day and night. He was tired when he came home this morning, but the kids had missed his so much! As I headed to do our weekly shopping, they were all snuggled up on the couch. Brock's school celebrated western day on Friday. My little cowboy looked so handsome. Michael's proudest moment came on Friday night when we headed out to dinner. Brock came in with his hat pulled down so far that his ears were folded down. His jeans were stuffed down in his boots. I asked Brock if he wanted to change clothes, but he said, "No, I am a cowboy!"

Every year Michael buys the kids a stuffed animal for Valentines Day. This year he bought Brock this monkey. Bananas is now second place in Brock's heart....behind the infamous "Blankie Dankie"
We are all almost back to normal. Addison will head back to school tomorrow for the first time in over a week. We are looking forward to our "normal" life again.

Sick, Sick, Surgery & Sick

The title sums up the last week for us. I woke up on Sunday with a chest cold. It progressively got worse. By Monday night, the chills had set in and I felt horrible. I spent Addison' birthday (Tuesday) in bed. I was able to get around a bit more on Wednesday, but I was still not able to go to work. Michael had a day surgery procedure scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. Somehow we managed to get over there and back. His procedure went well, but then my illness took over him. I finally got back to work on Thursday, but the flu has taken its toll on me. Now both kids are battling with it. Addison is the worst case of all of us right now. Her little body has been invaded. If she is not better by tomorrow, Michael is going to take her to the doctor. Brock has a touch of it, but he is fighting hard. Michael is recovering from his surgery. If we can all get over the flu, life will be good again!
Before all of this hit last weekend, we took Addison to Dallas to get her first American girl doll. She ended up choosing a doll named Emily. Going into that store was an experience. It's all she wanted for her birthday. She didn't put that doll down for several days. Now all she wants to do is sleep. Hopefully she will be better soon....

Pajama Party

Last night we celebrated Addison's 7th birthday by hosting her first pajama party. We had a house full of happy little girls. Brock's best friend, Ethan, also stayed the night so that Brock would have someone to play with while the girls were doing their thing. Before the party, they enjoyed some down time while watching Diego.Let the party begin....
The night started with the girls making a slumber party picture frame. Addison will give them back with a picture from the party, along with their thank you note.
Brock and Ethan slowed down long enough to watch Addison open presents. They spent the most of the night ouside playing animal rescue.
Present time, but first a little bit of tickling....
A friend gave Addison a crown and she wore it the rest of the night. What else would a princess do?
I love this picture. This was her face when her Daddy rolled out her birthday present. I'm not sure why she was so surprised, she picked it out herself.
Big girl bicycle....no training wheels
Addison' teacher, Mrs. Henderson, came to the party. She was the hit of the party until she tried to ride off with Addison's bike :)
Once again, Aunt Mittye's cupcake cake was a hit!
Beautiful girl
Happy Birthday to Addison!
Cupcakes and ice cream
The girls also decorated their own HSM pillowcase.
Haley was hard at work.

Addison had a great party. Everyone was finally asleep at midnight and then back at it by 7:30 this morning. All of the girls had a ton of fun.

The morning after.....

Today we are headed to big D to get Addison's first American girl doll. But first I needed some recovery time. I am snuggled up on the couch with my little girls. Life is good!
