Snow in Oklahoma

We headed to Oklahoma the day after Christmas so Michael could hunt. The kids were able to enjoy the snow while we were up there. This was the most snow that either one of them had ever seen. The weather was warm enough where they could get outside and play.......and they did! Anyone that left their car or walked outside of the house was pounded with Brock's snowballs.

While Addison and I finished the snowman, Brock went to the barn to watch the big boys skin a deer. This was his prize. He thinks he is taking these deer hooves to show and tell next week.

Daddy started building a snowman, but Addison and I finished it.

She took time out to make a snow angel.

The finished product

We hope we will get this kind of snow in Texas soon.

Christmas morning

Santa was good to all of us this year. We enjoyed a late night Christmas eve and an early Christmas morning. The kids were treated to Daddy's yummy pancakes in Christmas molds. Brock had a reindeer and Addison had an elf. The molds came from Williams & Sonoma and they were alot of fun. We can't wait to use them again next year.

My favorite part on Christmas morning was the warm fire.

It made the whole house cozy.

Addison was a good girl this year. Santa brought her a stocking full of lip gloss, bubble bath, knee socks (Santa's favorite), ring pops & journals. He also left her exactly what she wanted.....Bitty Baby Twins, a double stroller & four outfits. She was thrilled.

Brock was also a good boy this year. Santa left him a stocking full of legos, gloves, bubble bath, ring pops & chap stick. Brock received his wish list, as well. Santa brought a Wii and the Cabela's hunting game. He is loving his Wii.

We had a wonderful Christmas full of many blessing. It was great to spend the day at home and relax. It gave us all time to remember exactly why we celebrate Christmas.

Cookies for Santa

The kids made sugar cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. He must have really liked them. He ate 3 cookies and drank some chocolate milk.

The Gaylord Texan

One of my favorite parts about visiting the ice exhibit was having to walk through The Gaylord Texan. It is an amazing hotel. I will be going back, but the next time I hope it is just Michael and I.
They had several trains sets.
Brock shaking the hands of the soldiers.

I found Christmas tree #7........at my house next year =))))
It was rotating. That is what my house is missing! A rotating Christmas tree!!

I love this carpet!!!
I am having it put in our next house!

Snow flurries in Grapevine
Addison trying to get Brock and I across the bridge (inside the hotel) so we could see the ice.

I can't wait to go back!

The Grinch Ice Exhibit at the Gaylord

We headed to Grapevine to spend Christmas Eve with the Grinch at the Gaylord Texan. It is an exhibit of the story of the Grinch carved out of ice. Inside the exhibit is 5 - 9 degrees, so we tried to stay warm. Addison is the only one who really struggled with it. A princess does not like to be cold! The entire exhibit was beautiful and amazing. I wonder how long it took to carve all of this out of ice???
This is a picture of a picture.
I have scanned it and will hopefully get a better pic up later. Waiting to enter the igloo, but in the cold area already!

The pictures are out of order.
This is the entracance of the exhibit.....an real life igloo or icegloo!

The grande finale was a life size nativity......amazing!
The Angel
Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus
Each one of us took a trip down the ice slide. It was a bit chilly on the backside, but well worth it. We ended our day with a cup of hot chocolate before heading back home in the snow flurries.
Merry Christmas!
