To the Land of the Cowpokes

This weekend, we traveled to Stillwater, OK to attend the wedding of a long time friend of mine. Many years ago, I was the flower girl at Rhonda's wedding. I would also stay with her for a week during the summer in OKC when I was growing up. Rhonda's mother lived by my Grandmother and Rhonda was my babysitter when I was little. They were like family to me. On my seventh birthday, they took me to Chuck E. Cheese and Wet & Wild Water Park. It was my best birthday memory! Rhonda's daughter, Emi, got married this weekend. After she gets back from her honeymoon, she will begin vet school at OSU. I am so proud of her! Not to sound too old, but I can remember the day she was born! The beautiful bride, Emi

She can still dance pretty good!

The beautiful, but broke, bride's mother, Rhonda :)))

She was holding all the money she had left after the wedding!

She is so funny!

If you know my daughter, she is extremely timid. While all were dancing, Addison stood on the edge of the dance floor and watched. She wanted to get out there, but she just couldn't do it. Finally a song came on that she knew and out she went (with Mommy and Brock). Once she got out there, she did not want to stop. She is now our Dancing Queen. She danced until she wore Brock out! That is hard to do.

Brock twisting his booty!

This picture was taken before she started dancing.
Addison & Brock enjoyed dipping marshmellows, strawberries & pretzels in the chocolate fountain. They were pretty yummy!
Family picture taken by Addison....Brock is way too happy here.
Dancing with Daddy....who absolutely hates to dance.
I told them they better start practicing for her big day, in 30 years.

As we were leaving, Addison said this was the best night ever and she didn't want to leave.

We had to eat at the legendary hang-out, Eskimoe Joes, on Saturday afternoon.

Brock is trying to give the Cowpoke sign. This is for you, Mac!

He thinks he is so cool.

This is the view from our window. We figured this was as close as we would get to the brand new football stadium that was funded by a very rich Texan! We had a great time this weekend and it was so nice to spend time with friends that we don't get to see very much. Now it is time to start thinking about school.........blah!

Visitors

Our grandmother has been visiting us this week. Since she is here, we have had several visitors. On Tuesday night, Mema and Papaw came over and they brought Grandmommy over to see our new house. We enjoyed spending time with them. Then on Friday, we met grandmother's niece, Lorsey, at Red Lobster. It was very good. Then Lorsey, Grandmother, and I headed to the orchard for more peaches and ice cream. Addison showing her yearbook to her favorite Grandmommy.
Papaw & Mema with their adopted grandkids.
Mema was our babysitter until this past year. Both kids starting staying with her when they were seven weeks old. Needless to say, they are like family to us.

James and Lorsey.

Lorsey got her camera out, so I had to defend myself with my camera.

It has been busy, but fun at our house this week.

Peaches

Addison and Brock have enjoyed working over the peaches with Grandmother. Brock can only hold his interest for a short time, but Addison stuck with it. Here is day one.By the next time, they had a system worked out.
Addison peeling the peaches.
Grandmother cutting them up.
Brock losing intersted and playing on Webkinz.
For those of you who live close, take time to visit Ham's Orchard on HW80. They have the best fresh peaches around. Plus they have homemade peach ice cream on tap :) They close for the season in the middle of Aug. Hurry!

Fishing at Tom's Place

Michael worked a double shift this weekend, so when he got home this morning we planned a day of family time (after he mowed one yard!) Around lunch time, we headed to Tom's place to do a little fishing. Addison was the first one to catch a fish, of course. Here she is posing with her daddy because she did not want to touch the fish. Addison took a picture of a fish that I caught on her Barbie rod. We couldn't go to Tom's without paying a visit to Nellie.
Here is Nellie heading towards us to get her vanilla wafers. Her triplets are watching from behind. One of them is hiding behind the other.
Brock loving on Nellie

Nellie is striking a pose. Isn't she beautiful? We are trying to figure out how she can live in our house with us ;)
Addison and Nellie
Brock treated her like she was a big puppy.
We had a great day!

High School Musical

Addison and I met my grandmother at Fair park this afternoon to watch High School Musical, the Broadway version. This was the first time Addison had ever been to a musical. She enjoyed watching it. Her favorite part was the end when streamers shot out into the audience. If you are into the HSM thing, I would highly recommend the show.
Our grandmother travels with a group from the great state of Oklahoma to see the Dallas Summer Musicals. They don't have a choice on the shows. They get a package deal. Let's just say, this is not one of the shows they would have chosen. Of course, they haven't seen the movie a zillion times like those who live in our house. I'm sure they will enjoy their next show more. They are scheduled to see The Color Purple. Maybe she will invite us again :)

Puppies for Sale

On Thursday night, we went over to see the new additions to the Judd family. They now have seven new babies in their household. These are English Mastiffs (I think they are English). Anyway, they will quickly grow into very large babies. One of their grown dogs weighs 180 pounds. Each one is absolutely adorable! By the way, these dogs sell for $1200 a piece. Four of them have already been sold. If you are interested in one, let me know and then I am going to ask to borrow some money from you! Brock, Addison, Emma & Natalie
Emma was in my class last year. Hopefully, Natalie will be in my class next year :)

Brock and I want both of these babies. Not happening!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Michael's 33rd birthday. He spent it at work :) The kids and I went over to the station to spend the evening with Michael. The kids are always extremely bashful when we go over there, but they played marbles and had a good time. A special thank you to Aunt Mittye for a beautiful and delicious cake.
As we were about to leave the station, Michael had to go out on a call. I was saying goodbye to the others when one of the fireman suggested that I stay for a few more minutes. A couple of Michael's "friends" had bought him a Spongebob pinata for his birthday. They put it outside and the pictures tell the rest.
Brock got the first few hits.
Michael is action....poor Spongebob (I really don't like that cartoon).
This picture was taken right after Michael broke the stick while trying to break the pinata. Several pieces flew across the pation. They have way too much fun at the fire station. I laugh when Michael says he is going to "work". Addison and Brock on Captain Mark's Harley. Dream on....
Happy Birthday, Michael!
