Spring Break

Spring break has come and gone. We had a great week! Here is a summary of our week...

We left on Friday morning and headed to Oklahoma. The kids were able to be around the cows & horses, trap a raccoon & shoot a gun for the very first time. They had a good time, but we were ready to come home and relax for the week.

On Tuesday, we stayed home and caught up on laundry & housework. Michael took his captains test that day. He initally made an 83, but two days later his score went up to an 86. We will take that! The second part of the test comes in April.

On Wednesday, we met with our financial advisor. The kids went to Mema & Papaw's to play with their "real" grandkids. We had an adult day to ourselves. After our meeting, we headed to Firewheel Mall. It was nice to just walk around and look at everything. We ended our day with an early dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Yummy!

On Thursday, Addison, Aunt Sallee & I went to the American Girl store & Bistro. Addison had been wanting to get Emily a new pair of pajamas since she got her. She ended up with pj's, a spring outfit, a hat for Emily & a hat for herself. We had a delicious lunch at the bistro where Emily had her very own high chair. Once again....Yummy!

On Friday, we headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo. In hindsight, this was a very bad idea. Since everyone in Texas and Oklahoma were on spring break, the zoo was packed. We should have known it was going to be bad when we had to park in a pasture. It was so crowded. The zoo is beautiful, but we had to fight to see the animals. Lines, lines, and more lines. We finally gave up and decided to head home. We will go back in June when we can actually see the animals.

Waiting for the train

We couldn't get out of there fast enough!!

Before we headed home, we stopped at Bass Pro to eat at The Fish Company. It also has delicious food.

We bought this hat for Brock at the zoo so his ears and neck would not get burned. He loves this hat. He also had a powerade mustache :)

Michael was trying a FREE sample of alligator.

Addison and I had the same reaction.

YUCK!

Today, after my massive trip to Wal-mart, I treated myself to a pedicure. Tomorrow I will head to school to get my room ready for Monday. This week has been so great that I dread going back. But I love my class and I love my job......We have so much to be thankful for.

Sounds like a busy, but fun spring break. We didn't do much of anything. I am heading to Austin with Chris tomorrow for a few days. He has to work down there and I am going to enjoy some time without my kids!

Congratulations to Michael!!! I'm glad you had such a great family week. I don't know where you find the energy to do all the things you do.
